Richard Ayling Boat Fund

Richard Ayling died of heart failure on 1st November 2016. His impact on KRC was
massive, rowing for his club and country in the 1970s and then as a coach. He was in the GB squad eight in 1974 which won the Tideway Head and the Grand at Henley in 1975. Then began a glittering decade of coaching at KRC with a series of Henley wins and international representation. In 1981 Richard produced three KRC crews
which represented Great Britain at the worlds. He continued to coach internationally through to 1986 and until recently was still coaching.

Kingston Rowing Club is raising funds for a boat to name for Richard Ayling at a remembrance event in the spring of 2017.

We would like to thank KRC for all the appreciation they've extended to Richard, his family and the name 'Ayling', (something Richard carried with great pride). We hope the Boat will see many wins, laughs and will be a home to form friendships!
