Gujarat Charity Bike Ride

In aid of Urja Trust and AAWC.

Over 50 NRIs have signed up to this challenge, male and female from three continents to raise money for the two selected charities. Some are experienced riders but most have never owned a bike. All are determined to face this challenge and raise awareness but most importantly raise money to liberate these women and girls. PLEASE DONATE GENEROUSLY.

Urja Trust works with runaway and homeless young women who are vulnerable to sexual, physical, and economic exploitation and abuse. Urja Trust supports their journey to lead a life of choice, dignity and freedom. They additionally focus on advocacy to bring about policy changes by engaging with the government and civil society. When they asked a young daughter, of a woman trafficked into prostitution, “What she wants to be in life”? Her innocent but shocking reply was “a brothel owner”.

Since 1998 AAWC has worked with women trafficked into brothel based prostitution in Kamathipura, red light area of Mumbai. They have reached out to more than 3000 women and prevented more than 400 of their daughters entering the cycle of prostitution..
