Leicester Lord Mayors Appeal for The Laura Centre

Leicester’s new lord mayor will use his term in office to raise cash for The Laura Centre, a charity which supports parents after the death of a child and children and young people bereaved of a parent or sibling
Gail and Harry Moore set up the charity COPE in 1988, The Laura Centre opened in 1991 after the death of their own daughter Laura, who was diagnosed with leukeamia. The Laura Centre is now in its 28th year.

Coun Grant said: “There is a guidebook for being a mayor or a chairman which says, if you can, help raise the profile of a good local charity.“That’s one of the most important things you can do during the year.
