Kindergarten Garden Appeal

We need your help…

Cardiff Steiner School are looking for help and support to provide more opportunities for outdoor play and work for our youngest Kindergarten children age 3 to 6.

Our small, community school is home to over 90 children from in and around Cardiff, and the Kindergarten garden is a much used and much loved resource. The natural world and outdoor play are a key part of Kindergarten life. The children play outside every day whatever the weather. Activities reflect the changing seasons and the garden provides them with wonderful opportunities to watch life grow, explore, play and work together.

To support our children's’ outdoor play and work we are raising funds for:

  • A Purpose built, large, natural sand-pit using log sections
  • A Sand Kitchen – made from reclaimed timber and materials, and designed and being built by our very own Woodwork Teacher, Mike Morgan
  • An Outdoor Work & Parent Shelter
  • A Water Pump
We need to raise £2,000 to carry out the improvements. The money will be spent on materials, timber, tool hire, essential building works and equipment only.

Our Kindergarten Assistant, Lisa Sandercock and Woodwork Teacher, Mike Morgan, have designed the garden and hope to build it with the volunteer help of our parents and friends. The Sand Pit and Sand Kitchen are scheduled to be completed during the summer break ready for September, as long as fund raising initiatives go to plan.

We'd welcome your support in anyway, from working on the garden to helping us find materials or making donations towards our fundraising target.
