In memory of Jerry Burden 8.11.1962 - 25.12.2018

"Having made full use of the Copleston Centre during our 26 years in Peckham, Jerry was thrilled to become a Trustee in September 2017. He believed passionately in community and valued all the Centre offered to us personally as well as the neighbourhood in general.  Our children, Molly, Todd and Edith, benefited hugely from attending the Children's Centre nursery and after school club; the hall was a great venue for our annual children's Christmas party; we enjoyed countless meals in the cafe in the past as well as in its current form; Pilates classes helped to keep us fit.  We were looking forward to getting more involved as retirement approached.  Just as the Centre supported us and helped to ground us in the local community, your donation will contribute to supporting the ongoing work of the Copleston around mental-health, refugees & asylum seekers, activities for young people, for older people, and as a well-used resource for all kinds of community groups and celebrations."
Sarah Baker

The Trustees and all at Copleston Centre have been so saddened at the news of Jerry's death. It is such a testament to his commitment and care for the local community that he has asked for Copleston to be one of the charities he would like to be supported in his memory. In his time as a Trustee he was a huge influence in helping us shape a vision for the future. He had much more to give, and our hearts go out to Sarah and all the family.
