HWB take on the Three Peaks Challenge!

A team from HWB Chartered Accountants will take part in the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge this year to raise money for The Murray Parish Trust. We will be climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales - which means driving 462 miles, walking a total of 23 miles, and ascending a total of 3064 metres... all within the space of 24 hours!

HWB have chosen the MPT as our charity of the year because we feel it is incredibly important to support an organisation that is making such a difference in our local community. Most of our staff have young children, so the charity's work is particularly close to our hearts.

The Murray Parish Trust was set up by actors Sarah Parish and James Murray after they lost their daughter Ella-Jayne to a congenital heart defect, and is dedicated to the advancement of paediatric emergency medicine. Its current challenge is to raise £2 million to build a new state of the art children’s emergency and major trauma department at University Hospital Southampton, serving nine counties and islands across the South of England.

The new unit will allow children to be treated separately from adults, in an environment designed to minimise their anxiety, and where the privacy and dignity of both young patients and their visiting families is preserved. The Murray Parish Trust are a small local charity with minimal overheads, thus maximising the funds that go to this critical project. They’ve successfully lobbied the Government for matchfunding for the new facility, so every pound you donate will be automatically doubled!
