The Docklands Trail: Heritage on the Dock Festival
Heritage on the Dock Festival 7-10 September 2017 10am-6pm.
The Docklands Trail will open the doors to 180 years of dockland history as well as a glimpse into the future at the new Seaforth container terminal. The trail will feature access to our historic ports’ water frontage and visitors will be offered a unique experience of visiting mini- museums, housed within shipping containers at sites on each of six docks located between Liverpool and Seaforth on Merseyside.
As part of this years Heritage on the Dock Festival, we will be establishing a pop up exhibition on Collingwood Dock, illustrating the heritage of the North Liverpool Docks and our proposal to create a permanent heritage trail. We need to raise £5,000 to set up this pop up exhibition which will give the public an insight to the history of the docks and will raise awareness of the project, helping us to secure longer term funding so that we can make the Trail a reality.
North Liverpool’s docklands are engrained into the fabric of our local history and we want to shine a spotlight on the important role that the docks and dockers have had for many of us.
