Giant Zip Wire

Jess & Nicola will be taking to the sky (almost!) on Friday 29th June as they take a trip on the Giant Zip Wire to raise funds. Discover DeCrypt has had so much support from generous trusts, funds and individuals, and with a final push (or leap) we can make it across the finishing line of our fundraising goals.
The Giant Zip Wire is an 1100 feet-long wire which will be suspended from Northgate St to just past St Mary de Crypt. Brought to the city by the Gloucester Business Improvement District, this will be an amazing opportunity to raise money for the project.

"What people will notice, if we get our job right, is that Discover DeCrypt is more than a heritage attraction; it is a place where heritage is working for the good of the community. For centuries people have used these buildings to worship, meet, learn and enjoy the benefits of living together. This project is not about preserving them as museum pieces, but giving them again an active and vital role in the life of the city" "So please if you can - help us reach our fundraising target and play your part in saving this lovely place for the city and people of Gloucester" - Jess & Nicola

Discover DeCrypt is the project to regenerate the medieval St Mary de Crypt Church and Old Crypt Schoolroom in Gloucester. The buildings are closed for renovation and installation of facilities during 2018, making the buildings fit for use and accessible for all. After re-opening in March 2019 this will be a welcoming, affordable and accessible space for all in the heart of Gloucester's city centre. It will be a community hub, cultural centre, place of worship and heritage attraction.
