On 6th June, 47 Royal Marine Commando Association and friends will again be retracing the route of 47 Commando’s epic 13 mile attack behind enemy lines to capture the small French port of Port-en-Bessin and to link up with US forces on D-Day, 1944.
Their yomp is in support of the 47 Charity

47 Charity aims to raise £5,000 to help veterans attend the annual WWII commemorations in France and Holland and to keep safe the memorials to their fallen comrades. These visits continue to strengthen the warm friendship that has grown between veterans and their families and the communities in which their actions took place.
