WE CAN

Two brothers will cycle 932 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats in record 5 days in aid of Syrian disables brothers & sisters. Funds will be used to help set up a clinic to provide prosthetic legs to the Syrian disabled brothers and sisters in Lebanon and other places.

After civil war outbreak in Syria in 2012 and violence escalating throughout the more than 6 million people have fled Syria since the start of the conflict, most of them women and children. Neighbouring Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey have struggled to cope with one of the largest refugee exoduses in recent history. Lebanon is now host to hundreds of thousands of refugees which have been left with physical disabilities as well as emotional trauma by the war in Syria. Children, women and men have lost limbs therefore struggling to get around, provide for their family or adjust to new environments.Prosthetic legs are not cheap. Physiotherapy is a luxury for many. Medicines are expensive.

Wheelchairs break and cost money to repair. Even with access to a ramp and wheelchair, there are still places and people which are inaccessible. Since buildings and streets in Lebanon are inaccessible to the disabled, many people with disabilities remain hidden away at home. By providing these refugees with prosthetics and physiotherapy it gives a new hope for the future, a better chance a life and to be able to walk again.
