Virgin London Marathon
BAFTA has been given five places in this year’s Virgin London Marathon on 21 April 2013 through the Charities Forum and HRH The Duke of Cambridge’s patronage of BAFTA.
Funds raised from the marathon will support a UK-wide series of special screenings for children with life limiting conditions and their families. These screenings are in partnership with local children’s hospices.
The Virgin London Marathon is one of the biggest running events in the world. It has been held each spring in London since 1981. It is also a large, celebratory sporting festival, second only to the Great North Run in Newcastle, in terms of the number of participants. The event has raised over £450 million for charity since 1981.
