Arctic Rugby Challenge2015

In April 2015, 11 brave men trekked over 60 miles to the Magnetic North Pole, in order to set a Guinness World Record and play the most northerly game of rugby in history. This pioneering expedition aims to raise £300,000 for Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby, to support disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK and Ireland.

The teams were led by former Rugby Union Internationals, Tim Stimpson (England and Leicester Tigers) and Ollie Phillips (England 7s and Gloucester winger). Guinness World Records™ have verified this epic achievement, and we are very proud to announce Wooden Spoon’s Arctic Rugby Challenge team has officially set a brand new Guinness World Record!

Since we began in 1983, we have been dedicated to making a difference to the lives of the estimated 800,000 disabled children and 1 million NEETS in the UK today. The money will go towards directly supporting projects that help disabled and disadvantaged children.
