World record attempt!

Current world record holder, Commonwealth gold medal winner and Ultra distance runner, Sharon Gayter, is running to create a new world record to be verified by the Guinness Book of Records, whilst raising money for our charity New Hope Uganda UK. Running 10 marathons in 10 days in as short a time as possible, Sharon is hoping to improve on her previous record of 7 days on a treadmill which saw her cover 833.05 km or 517.63 miles. No man or woman has broken this record set in 2011. Sharon has many ultra marathons under her belt including the gruelling Badwater Ultra marathon of 135 miles across Death Valley, known as the hottest race on earth. Running at Teesside University in the Olympia Building, Sharon will face the extra problems of muscle fatigue when running on a treadmill. The event starts on Monday 8th January and she will run for 10 consecutive days finishing on Wednesday 17th Jan 2018. We are incredibly honoured and grateful that Sharon has chosen to support us in her attempt. Can we ask that you please support her as she makes this attempt and tries to raise money for the children of New Hope Uganda.

New Hope Uganda UK is a charity working to support the children and families at New Hope Uganda. As you can see in our profile, we are working with children of all ages and those with special needs to improve their lives and those of their families. We have so much let's share something of what we have with those who are materially less fortunate. Every penny counts and if you are able to gift aid please do so!!!
