Westoning Village Hall
Westoning Village Hall is a community building which is very well used by people living in and around this Bedfordshire village. It was built as a school in the 1840's and maintenance costs are high. The only income is hire charges from people and organisations which use the building. Currently the hall is used for Brownies, Women's Institute, The Players (drama group), Youth Group, Fellowship (older people's group), weekly coffee mornings, Parish Council meetings and is available for private hire. It also hosts Art and Pilates exercise classes and Socatots sessions for little ones. The committee raise extra funds by showing monthly Big Screen films over the winter months and running weekly carpet bowls sessions.
Please donate to support our cause.
We have just received planning permission to build new toilets and main entrance. This will allow easy access to the building and provide modern washrooms including dedicated facilities for disabled people. Major projects like this require appeals to the public, fundraising activities by the committee and grant funding. Unfortunately grants are not easy to come by in our area. Please give generously to improve the facilities at this well used village hall. If you are a UK tax payer please consider ticking the Gift Aid option then the government tops up your donation by 25% at no extra cost to you.
