West of Scotland Regional Equality Council was originally set up in 1971 as Glasgow Community Relations Council and has undergone a number of evolutions to arrive at West of Scotland Regional Equality Council. Our aims are to challenge discrimination, reduce inequality and promote good relations between all communities.
We work with a broad range of equality organisation with particular focus on minority ethnic communities living in the West of Scotland. The focus of our work is to respond to calls from communities for support and gaps in service and the greatest needs just now affecting our user communities are unemployment, welfare reform, immigration, access to further learning,skills acquisition, civic participation and good quality advice and information. We currently provide a range of advice, volunteer, capacity building and strategic services to progress equality in Scotland.
