Wellow Group Riding for the Disabled
We are a registered charity based near Bath offering therapeutic horse riding to more than 200 riders of all ages.
The Wellow Riding for the Disabled Group is a voluntary organisation working in and around Bath with horses and ponies to promote therapy and
enjoyment for local people with disabilities. Through the commitment of
our volunteers we enable disabled riders to have fun, improve their health and
well-being and gain a sense of achievement.
The Group holds sessions every day except for Wednesdays and Sundays in term time. Each week more than 100 riders of all ages come to Wellow to ride.
Riding activities include exercises, playing games, having races
(usually at the walk!) and going out for a ride in the local countryside.
The Group's riders have a wide range of disabilities
including cerebral palsy; learning difficulties; head injuries; hearing
and/or visual impairments; autism and progressive diseases such as
