Charity description

Watchmen International logo
Watchmen International is a UK-based Christian charity working across the church denominations in Africa – training Pastors and leaders to be effective trainers of trainers, discipling and empowering young people through the Africa Youth Award, supporting nursery school education, and providing clean and safe drinking water through our Lifewater project.

We seek to serve mainly rural and deprived communities in East Africa, with a view to empowering communities which have little or no hope of improving their circumstances. We have seen communities transformed spiritually, mentally and physically!

Our main teaching program is the Spiritual Transformation Training Programme. This is a discipleship training programme for Pastors and Church leaders. We value support for our work generally (where most needed) but there are also specific opportunities.
  • £150 enables us to print 100 copies of our discipleship course in one of several languages used across the 9 nations in which Watchmen International is working.
You can also:

Sponsor the Africa Youth Award
  • £50 provides the teaching resources for a group of 12 young people for a whole year
  • £125 provides a variety of sports equipment to a group to use for physical recreation.
  • £250 provides a basic but varied set of hand-tools, including one sewing machine, to a group of 12 young people (tools provided by Tools with a Mission).
Sponsor a lifewater system
  • A gift of £45 enables us to sponsor and set up an initial Lifewater system in a home, school or health centre, thereby providing clean and safe drinking water to hundreds in the local communities in which we work.
Sponsor a nursery school
  • By Western standards it costs remarkably little to impact the lives of a whole community in rural Africa. Just £150 per month (£120 with GiftAid) enables us to maintain an entire nursery school of up to 120 children and their teachers. It also enables us to provide the children with a simple meal of porrige. There is also normally a cook/assistant, so the school provides employment for several people.
