We also provide free CPR and defibrillator training to the community.
Warwickshire Hearts began as a joint venture between Warwick District Community First Responders, Evelyn's Gift Charity and Waterside Medical Centre in Leamington Spa to help improve Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survival rates in South Warwickshire by providing free CPR and Defibrillator training to the community. Together we have trained over 5100 people in a three year period. Warwickshire Hearts is now a Charity in its own right and also encompasses the provision of voluntary 999 Community First Responders (CFRs) on behalf of West Midlands Ambulance Service in South Warwickshire, including the towns of Warwick, Kenilworth, Royal Leamington Spa and Stratford upon Avon. We attend around 400 emergency calls a year.
We are entirely a voluntary organisation and have no paid staff. We receive no public funding or funding from West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) other than provision of some training and consumables.
We operate a radio controlled response car and have 20 operational CFRs equipped with defibrillators and advanced first aid equipment. We are despatched to calls by WMAS Emergency Operations Centre. All of this is provided by fundraising. Please donate to support our cause.
