Waltham Forest Thuso in South Africa

Charity description

Waltham Forest Thuso in South Africa logo
Waltham Forest Thuso in South Africa provides support to children in South Africa who might otherwise struggle to stay at school.

Waltham Forest Thuso in South Africa was founded in 2006 by members of the North East London branch of ACTSA, the successor to the Anti-Apartheid movement. We share Nelson Mandela’s vision that the children of South Africa are the country’s greatest asset.Thuso means ‘helping hand’ in Sesotho and our aim is to support children still living in poverty in South Africa, many of whom have been orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDs. We assist students at Thuto Lesedi High School near Johannesburg with school fees, food and books; as well as children at the rural Lobethal primary school in Limpopo. Your donations are crucial for us to continue our work. Every penny you give goes direct to the projects we support.
