The Red Lipstick Foundation

Charity description

The Red Lipstick Foundation logo
the charity 'The Red Lipstick Foundation started by our family in June2014 following the death of our much loved daughter, sister, twin, auntie, granddaughter
and friend. We are based in Hampshire.
Brittany took her life the day before her 20th birthday and left our world in chaos. We named our charity the ‘RedLipstick
Foundation’ as Brittany was such a make up fanatic. She loved her bright red lipstick and it suited her vivacious and crazy personality. She was a stunning, hilarious and quirky member of our big family. Her death was extremely unexpected as to everyone she was the life and soul of the party with a permanent cheery smile. None of us will ever know what that smile concealed and we have now made it our mission to try and help other families in our situation and to raise awareness of mental health issues.

Please donate to support our cause. With assistance from fundraising we are on a mission to do the following things for families bereaved by suicide: - Provide a qualified counsellor - Send food parcels - Manage a funding pot for emergency financial assistance - Hold support networking events and online forums - Provide a 'break out space' for newly bereaved families to have a few days away We also will focus on education and support for young people: - Attend local youth groups and schools to tell our story and give talks about mental illness, highlighting support available. - Start the 'behind the smile' project working in schools with children from year 6 to year 11. This project will help children to understand the complexity of emotions of themselves and others through the medium of role play. - Network and work with local agencies and charities to try and reduce suicide rates and help people with mental health issues
