The Oesophageal Patients Association
The OPA has worked for over 30 years to re-assure and support patients who are undergoing treatment for Oesophageal and Gastric cancer, two of the most unpleasant, life changing and rapidly increasing cancers. Oesophago-gastric is now the fifth most common cancer.
Our charity works alongside the medical profession towards earlier diagnosis, better treatments and improved outcomes for patients and is represented on committees involved with the management of oesophago-gastric cancers and research into new treatments.
Please donate and assist us to expand our services to help many more patients across the UK.
We offer a wide range of information booklets, leaflets and through our website and other social media.
Our helpline gives patients the chance to receive re-assurance from a network of doctors, health professionals and patients who have themselves survived the disease.
Patients have the opportunity to attend meetings when they can meet survivors who have recovered and are leading relatively normal lives. Speakers include members of medical teams, including gastroenterologists, consultant surgeons, dieticians, physiotherapists and clinical nurse specialists who volunteer to attend and give our members the chance to discuss their problems.
Your donation will make a big difference. Thank you.
