The National Autistic Society

Charity description

The National Autistic Society logo
With over 50 years’ experience,
The National Autistic Society is the UK's leading charity for people affected
by autism (including Asperger syndrome) and their families.

Over 700,000 people in the UK have autism - that’s more than 1 in 100. Together with their families they make up over 2.7 million people whose lives are touched by autism every single day.

Despite this, autism is still relatively unknown and misunderstood. Which means that many of these individuals get nothing like the level of help, support and understanding they need.

We were founded in 1962, by a group of parents who were passionate about ensuring a better future for their children. Today, we have 20,000 members, 100 branches and provide a wide range of advice, information, support and pioneering specialist services, including education and employment. A local charity with a national presence, we campaign and lobby for lasting positive change and a better world for people affected by autism. Last year, we reached 100,000 people - with your help, we can reach many more.

Our work relies on your support, so please get involved or donate today.
