Charity description

The Jack Boericke Foundation is established under Prism the Gift Fund (registered charity number 1099682). It was set up in August 2011 in memory of Jack Boericke who was one of the leading youth triathletes in Great Britain. He died at the tragically young age of 16 shortly after he had been selected to attend a British Triathlon Talent Squad training camp.

The aim of the Jack Boericke Foundation is to support young triathletes that are struggling with the expenses associated with the sport, and to attract into triathlon those potential athletes who would otherwise be put off the sport due to the relatively high cost of training and equipment.

The Foundation seeks to further these aims by identifying young athletes that are (or are interested in) participating in triathlon and require financial assistance. The Foundation is a registered charity and awards from the Foundation are needs-based. Typical evidence of need would be eligibility for public benefits from other sources, such as school lunches, tax credits, and housing benefit.

Jack was a member of the Optima Racing Team, and the Foundation maintains a strong relationship with his Team. However, awards from the Foundation are not limited to Optima athletes.

The Jack Boericke Foundation wants to encourage participation by triathletes up to 18 years of age, of all abilities and backgrounds (whether new to triathlon or not) and would like to hear from you today.

The Jack Boericke Foundation is a restricted fund under the auspices of Prism the Gift Fund Registered Charity Number: 1099682.
