The Gibberd Garden
We are a very small charity, committed to keeping one of the most important post-war gardens in the country maintained and open to the public, promoting the understanding and enjoyment of art, architecture and garden design.
We only have only two part-time paid members of staff (our gardeners) - relying on volunteers, visitors through the gate, and donations to continue - so your support can really make a difference to our work.
About the Garden
The Gibberd Garden is an inspirational 7 acre garden with over 80 post-war sculptures and architectural pieces set in a series of enchanting spaces, including formal lawns, ornate terraces, a dramatic mature lime walk, pools, streams and glades – with fabulous garden views from Sir Frederick Gibberd’s own house (open Sundays only). The Garden is listed Grade II.
We open April - September, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (and Bank Hol Mons), 2-6pm, with a lively programme of events throughout the season including music and theatre.
We operate a Friends membership scheme, so for a very modest sum, you can join us for a whole year, receive our Newsletters, and visit the garden whenever it's open.
