Charity description

The Galilee Foundation logo
The Galilee Foundation (GF) is a non-profit organisation registered in the United Kingdom. The Foundation was established in 2007 to promote development and equality of the Palestinian indigenous community in Israel. There are 1.5m Palestinian citizens of Israel, about 20% of the total population, and 370,000 of those are internally displaced. 61% of Palestinian families in Israel live below the poverty line.

The Galilee Foundation prioritises working with the most marginal and vulnerable groups within the Palestinian community, including women, Palestinians in mixed cities, the Bedouin community in the Naqab/Negev and other communities in rural areas.
Since the start of the Galilee Foundation’s core programme, the Scholarship Programme, in 2007, more than 400 young people have been supported in universities across Israel and abroad.
The Galilee Foundation’s Scholarship Programme is currently in its fifth year, and this year has awarded 150 scholarships to students.
Scholarship recipients are studying a wide range of subjects at universities across the country and abroad, from Law at Haifa University to Biomedical Engineering at Tel Aviv University.
Last year, the Galilee Foundation received over 1,750 applications for scholarships, and would like to offer increasing numbers of scholarships to new applicants every year.
