The Burma Star Association
The Burma Star Association was founded in 1951. The aims of the Association are, to promote the comradeship experienced during the bitter fighting in the jungles and hostile terrains of Burma, and to relieve the subsequent need, hardship and distress that veterans of the Burma Campaign of the 1939-45 War and/or their widows and dependants may be suffering. To qualify for benevolence an individual must hold the Burma Star medal or be the widow/widower or a dependant of a Burma Star holder.
Please donate to support our cause.=11ptIn 2017 the Association’s funds assisted 134 individuals by issuing financial grants to qualifying beneficiaries. Beneficiaries do not have to belong to the Association. Assistance can be given in many forms including: assistance for those who have to go into permanent care in nursing homes; the purchase of electrically powered scooters, wheelchairs and stair lifts to provide mobility in and around the home and specialist telephone lifelines, assistance for paying debts and help to repair and redecorate homes or to provide replacement household items when old, worn out or dangerous. Individual costs increase annually as prices rise and we aim to help every individual who qualifies for help.
