Teckels is a small independent charity based in Whitminster, Gloucestershire.
Each year we care for around 450 rescue dogs and cats and help them to find their forever homes.

Our vision is a world where all animals are well cared for and respected.

At our centre we care for cats and dogs who, for many different reasons, have found themselves without a home. Some have had a difficult past during which they may have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Others have previously had owners who are sadly no longer in a position to look after them. We work hard to find new homes for all the animals that arrive at our centre.

The centre is run by a team of people who really understand and care about animals. Whatever an animal’s history we provide active rehabilitation and positive reinforcement with the aim of finding them a new home. We have a non-destruction policy and will never euthanise an animal unless for health reasons (physical or mental). We believe that all animals deserve the chance of a happy life.

Our Boarding kennels and cattery helps to cover our charities running costs which can easily be around £30,000 per month. We do not discriminate against elderly or poorly animals, and so our veterinary fees cost the charity between £4,000-£7,000 per month to ensure each animal is comfortable, happy and healthy.

Teckels rescue and rehoming centre is a charity that relies on the support of volunteers, fundraisers, sponsors and donors. Without them we would not be able to help the many animals who come into our care each year in need of a new home.
