Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.

Talking Tandems is a small charity, based in Dalgety Bay and covering west and central
Fife. The stated aims of the charity are;
a.
To encourage, facilitate and improve the health and well-being of people who are blind, partially sighted or have a dual sensory loss, through participation in physical activities particularly but not exclusively in tandem cycling.

b.
To increase understanding and knowledge among the public, and in particular the volunteers working with Talking Tandems, of the barriers facing people who are blind, partially sighted or have a dual sensory loss.

Talking Tandems has been in existence since 2009, and has a record of success in supporting its visually impaired members. These members have improved their levels of physical fitness and a number of members have taken part in long multi-day tandem runs. Members have also participated in a number of mainstream cycling events, including leading the parade in the 2016 Pedal on Parliament event.

In 2013 we increased the frequency of our club runs to meet the demand from members for an increased level of activity from monthly to twice monthlygroup rides. Many visually impaired members have also spoken about how involvement in Talking Tandems has improved their mental and social well-being.

A number of valuable friendships have been established through Talking Tandems, with sighted members giving companionship and support to visually impaired
members out with our core activity of cycling.
