Young People's Wellbeing Service incorporates Eastleigh Youth Counselling Service and The Teenage Drop-In Centre (fondly known as TADIC). TADIC Hedge End has been providing a valuable service to teenagers for over 20 years, it is a service established by GP Ruth Padday, who has just been recognised for her charity work through being awarded a British Empire Medal. The drop in centre welcomes teenagers every Wednesday afternoon from the Hedge End medical centre, and Monday’s (term-time only) from Hamble school. The service offers advice and support around a number of issues including sexual health, relationship advice, contraception and referral to counselling. It is highly valued by the teenagers that use it. The service relies on funding, and a great deal of support from volunteers, nurses and counsellors. We have also established good relationships with the local schools and parents who see the positive impact on their children and community. We are lucky to have The Eastleigh Youth Counselling Service, a small team of highly experienced counsellors that provide counselling to young people around a variety of issues (including bullying, self-harm, depression and anxiety).
