Swindon IA (Swindon Ileostomy Association) is a local ostomy & internal pouch patient self help support group, which is also a UK registered charity. The group was formed in 1980 by an enthusiastic group of people with stomas and our former president, Dr. Michael Hellier FRCP.
The aim of the group is to support and help ostomy and internal pouch patients return to a full and active life following radical bowel surgery.
We have donated thousands of pounds of equipment and services to our local stoma care service and created a patient information DVD, which is available, free of charge, to any stoma care clinic in the world.
Swindon IA holds at least three general meetings for its members annually in addition to various fund raising events.
We are very proud of our links with our local health professions who are based at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon, and endeavour to help them to help us.
Please donate to support our cause!
