Thank you for visiting our profile. Sunflowers Suicide Support was set up in memory of Pete Morris who took his own life in September 2016. Pete had never suffered from mental ill health but was struggling after a relationship breakdown. He was a popular and charismatic artist with a wonderful sense of humour. Everybody loved to spend time with Pete; with his infectious laugh and huge smile he was sure to brighten your day. He was extremely close to his family and had a very strong network of friends that all loved him dearly. We feel the pain of his loss everyday and miss him immensely. We will forever ask ourselves why.

After losing Pete, it quickly became apparent that there was not much provision or signposting to support after Suicide Bereavement in Gloucestershire. Suicide Loss it is a lonely and confusing journey and we do not want others to have to walk this path alone.

We have two aims;
1. To raise awareness around suicide and mental health
2. To support those bereaved by suicide who live in Gloucestershire

We offer Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. We also offer Grief Recovery Courses, as well as various events and activities to support those bereaved.

We exist to reduce the number of people who take their own lives in Gloucestershire.

We believe that suicide is preventable.
We believe that everyone can play a role in preventing suicide.
We believe that no one should have to go through the heartbreak of losing a loved one to suicide.

We aim:
To raise awareness of the stigma that surrounds mental health.
To inspire excellence to achieve transformed, integrated services.
To use our personal experience of suicide loss to inform and inspire others.
To highlight and help others identify suicide indicators.
To equip individuals and the community with the skills to recognise and respond to suicidal behaviour.
To support any individual living in Gloucestershire that has been bereaved by suicide and work to provide timely practical care and the best possible help to these individuals.
We endevour to signpost indivudals to further professional support and guidance.
