Strutt's North Mill

Charity description

Strutt's North Mill logo
We're a charity running an independent textile history museum based in a Grade 1 listed building, the first 'fire proof' cotton mill.

Cotton was first spun on the Belper Mills site in 1776. Our museum displays include original spinning and knitting machinery, locally 'chevened' stockings, stories of the Strutt family and life for many hundreds of mill workers. The museum is staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers, your donation helps us to keep the museum running, develop the collections and displays and work for the preservation of the building.
