St Luke’s Roof Appeal: St Luke's Church was built in 1868 and the roof has reached the end of its working life. We reroofed the chancel in 2014 at a cost of nearly £50K. Now we are raising funds to restore the larger nave roof (estimated cost: £150K). We need to replace about 50% of the tiles and completely renew all the underlying materials e.g. waterproof membrane, laths etc. For further details see http://stluke-eccleshill.btck.co.uk/RoofFund
Members of the church have already donated funds and our Roof Appeal Committee have organised a range of events to suit all tastes. To date (end of June 2018) we have raised almost £75K – half the total we need before putting the work out to tender.
Can you help us by donating towards our roof appeal, so we can continue to serve the local community and be a focus of God’s love for everyone?

St Luke's is the Church of England parish church for Eccleshill and nearby areas in the north-east of Bradford. We seek to share God's love with the local community through worship, groups to help people in their Christian life and social action.
For many years we have operated a day centre for the elderly on Tuesdays.  In 2014 we were instrumental in setting up Bradford North Foodbank in recognition of the fact that local people were in need of emergency food and support.  We host one of Bradford North Foodbank's food distribution cafes every Thursday.
Our building is sited next to St Luke's CE Primary School.  The church has strong links with the school and pupils visit the church weekly for worship.  The church hosts the school's various festivals and celebrations.
