Station House Community Connections

Charity description

Station House Community Connections logo
Station House Community
Connections was set up by local residents to create a new centre in support of East Suffolk rural communities. The Station House in Campsea Ashe village is the perfect venue to help generate
much needed community facilities, as well as knowledge and understanding of the wider area. It will touch all our lives and those of generations to come.

Please donate to support our cause. We are raising funds to refurbish the Station House. Built in 1859 it left railway ownership in 1967 and has been empty for the last 7 years. By restoring it in keeping with its railway heritage we can combine historical purpose with community function to provide something for everyone:
  • Restored platform canopy, ramped access and internal lift;
  • Meeting rooms (with conference facilities, workstations for hot-desking and training, 1:1 consultations, and group activities);
  • Computer & broadband access;
  • Area information via touch screen technology;
  • Map & book shop;
  • CafĂ©;
  • Railway facilities with ticket machine and real-time train information;
  • Exhibition telling the story of the East Suffolk Railway.
