Charity description

SOS logo
The Sussex Ornithological Society was formed in 1962 to promote the recording, study, conservation and enjoyment of birds in Sussex.

Formed in 1962 by a small group of young people, the Sussex Ornithological Society has grown to become one of the largest county bird clubs in Great Britain.
Members receive quarterly newsletters and a copy of the award-winning annual Sussex Bird Report, and can join us on field outings to increase their knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of birds. Services to our members are more than covered by their subscription payment, and excess income is used for conservation purposes. All those working on the Society’s behalf do so in a voluntary capacity.
All donations go towards supporting projects which are of great benefit to wild birds in Sussex. These vary from funding bird boxes to grants for land purchases, habitat improvement and conservation initiatives throughout the county.

So your donation can help make a real difference to our county’s birdlife.
