Share the Light logo
Share the light is a UK charity formed by the young to help the young.

An essential part of our work is to develop young people who are articulate, informed and personally engaged ‘advocates’ for the developing world. Part of their role and our supporters in the UK is to raise funds to help several essential projects in Zambia.

Our advocates identified that for Zambia to be less dependent on foreign aid and support over the long term, they must get help to better enable their own skill sets. The key to this is education!

Please donate to support our: -

Scholarship Programme
To allow payment of school fees and to provide support for those able and willing to progress beyond a basic education. In a class of 45 only 5 or 6 are fortunate enough to continue their studies past year 9. We have many success stories already!

Porridge Club
Formed to ensure that all children could be guaranteed at least one meal a day. The schools report not only better performance by all students, but also a large increase in numbers attending school.

City of Joy
A home for young girls who have been abused, orphaned (Zambia has a very high HIV rate) or are from families simply too poor to care for them. Whilst ensuring they have a safe, friendly environment it also enables them the opportunity to go to school and better their lives. Since support from STL has been provided the number of girls now with City of Joy has doubled.

We are making a very real difference to young people’s lives and we hope that with time we will be able to do that on such scale that the people helped can help Zambia help itself to become stronger and more self-sufficient without Foreign aid or support.
