Scottish Fair Trade Forum

Charity description

Scottish Fair Trade Forum logo
Scottish Fair Trade Forum commitment is drawn from Scotland's resolve to challenge global poverty.

The Scottish Fair Trade Forum was established in January 2007 by a group of Scottish Fair Trade campaigners. The aim of the forum is to help make Scotland a nation which is a global leader in challenging global poverty and recognises the dignity and rights of producers through a commitment to fairness in international trading.

Over the years, Fair Trade has become a success story in building a partnership between consumers in the developed world and producers in developing countries.

Fair Trade has been a force for good in Scotland, bringing together a variety of public sector organisations, as well as non-governmental organisations, universities, colleges and schools, among others.

Scotland became a Fair Trade Nation in February 2013 and the Forum hopes that Scotland’s leadership role in Fair Trade policies will inspire other nations to follow suit.
