Save St Clement's Willis Organ
We are raising funds to restore our historically-important and fine-sounding pipe organ, built by the renowned craftsman "Father" Willis in the 1876.
After many years of faithful service on Sundays, Recitals, Festivals, and lots of use by those learning to play, the organ is now in desperate need of repair and overhaul. All the work required will cost 100K. This is a daunting task for us, but we have committed ourselves to raise the funds to preserve not only our musical tradition, but to conserve a wonderful piece of church heritage and an instrument which has proved popular with professional and amateur organists alike, including the Archbishop of York, the Most Rev'd John Sentamu, the Patron of this Appeal.
Please donate to support our cause. You can sponsor a pipe for £5 each - see events
