Rivington Terraced Gardens are much loved but have deteriorated over the years, leading to parts of it being closed off to the public.
The great news is that Rivington Heritage Trust (RHT), working with partners, has secured funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of a larger project to repair, enhance and conserve the Gardens for future generations.

Some structures and buildings which could have been lost forever will be preserved and in some cases will be re-opened to the public.

A Friends Group has been created to support volunteers and the project team to improve access, encourage people to get involved, learn about the Gardens’ rich history and deliver a growing range of exciting events.  You may have seen some of the changes in the Gardens over the last 12 months which the Friends have led on.

The funding will pay for the first stage of the project, but to enable us to protect the Gardens for decades, we need to fund part of the work ourselves. All money raised from donating via this webpage will be used to achieve this aim for the community and future generations.

Many thanks to those of you who are able to donate money towards this project.
