Radio Warneford provides a radio service tailored to the needs of the patients. We have been broadcasting since 1973 and were originally based at the Warneford General Hospital in Leamington Spa before moving to the Warwick Hospital site in 1993. Radio Warneford is staffed by about fifty volunteers, people of all ages and from all walks of life, who give up their time to visit patients, broadcast programmes and raise funds. Radio Warneford is a registered charity and receives no financial support from the NHS. The station has to raise sufficient funds each year to cover the costs of broadcasting, buy music tracks for the library and replace or update items of studio equipment. We hold a number of major events each year including the Easter Egg Tombola and the Grand Raffle Draw. All of the money raised from organisations and members of the public is used to improve the radio service for patients. Administration costs are met by an annual membership fee paid by all volunteers.
