Raise your Game!

Beginning in September 2017, the “Raise your Game” initiative will run for two years with an initial target of raising £150,000.

The PTFA is working closely with the school to identify various grants that can support this, and a huge amount of work has already taken place on the first phase of the works. The school gym floor was refurbished in the Autumn along with a new heating system being installed in the sports hall, and last month the PTFA presented the school with a cheque for £8,000 towards a new minibus!

However the task ahead is still huge in terms of the funds we are looking to raise and the works planned to be carried out. These include:
  • Replacing the roof on the sports hall
  • Replacing the playing surface in the sports hall
  • Building a 4G pitch surface
School funding is particularly challenging at this time so the majority of funds the PTFA raise will be directed towards this project.

QPCS is fortunate in the secondary sector to have an active and committed parents and teachers and friends association. Our constitution says that we will engage in activities, provide facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

Last year was another really great year for the PTFA. We raised over £10,000 towards a new mini bus. There were three major fundraisers and support to school events such as the show and concerts. Winter term saw a really great pop bingo night, and the spring term the famous quiz. Summer of course was the carnival and fun run which is surely now established as a true community event. We are running at the London Winter Run event this year too. We are supported by Winkworth Estate Agents and the Queens Park Area Residents Association.

Every student benefits from the funds raised by the PTFA
Recent money raised has been used for projects such as:
• Sixth form refurbishment
• Mental well-being
• Sponsoring Year 11 on their prom night
• Support of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme
• Yoga
• Drums for the music department and much more
