Charity description

Path logo
Plymouth Access to Housing (Path) is an independent homelessness charity which was set up in the early 1990s to help deal with the growing levels of homelessness in the city.
Path offers a range of services to reduce and prevent homelessness, from work with rough sleepers through to support for people to maintain their tenancies.

One of the most common issues our clients experience is financial trouble. Our Hardship Fund is a way for us to provide help to people in ways that are fast, significant and flexible.

Options for clients are often limited and a small financial donation for a specific purpose may enable a client to better look after themselves, use other services or just survive a weekend.

The Fund is made up (only) of donated monies. It is used only as direct expenditure for clients.
The kinds of things we contribute to include:
  • paying for a night in a B&B for a vulnerable person (while we work with them)
  • paying off small housing debts
  • returning someone to other parts of the country where they may have family, friends or services already in place
  • purchasing essentials to help someone move into accommodation
In these cases the Fund meets needs not addressed
elsewhere, supporting people to move or stay off the streets.
