OXFORD WINTER NIGHT SHELTER (OWNS)
What we'd like to achieve
Our vision is to mitigate the harm that sleeping rough does to people's health and safety, especially during the coldest months of the year.
We aim to show the love of God to each of our guests through the way we welcome and care for them, although we do not push religion at our guests.
What matters to us and why we do it
In the belief that God wants us all to live fulfilled lives, we put a high priority on respecting our guests.
We work within a Christian ethos, and while not excluding guests or volunteers of other faiths or none, have the expectation that they will respect and abide by our values.
We acknowledge that we share with all other major faiths, and people of no faith, a desire to help some of the most vulnerable in our society.
Dear MyDonate donor
Although you remain anonymous, as trustee of the Oxford Winter Night Shelter, may I extend our grateful thanks to you for your generosity. Such donations enable us to carry on the work of sheltering rough sleepers in Oxford during the coldest months of the year. Last winter 57 people used our shelters, and over half of them did not return to rough sleeping at the end of the project. Your kindness has made a difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable. From them and from us, thank you.
