Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.

OBAC is a registered charity working to relieve the needs of blind/partially-sighted and disabled people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds. We do this through the provision of support, advocacy, advice and information, as well as by educating and training BAME disabled people to become active members of society and to gain skills and employment. The majority of Black And Minority Ethnic disabled people referred to our service have multiple disabilities

We are unique – the only charity set up in 1988 to help blind/partially sighted Africans and Caribbeans in the UK, in 2010 we extended our remit to help people from all BAME backgrounds and all disabilities.

Please donate to support our cause of the eradication of poverty.Over 5 million visually impaired people in the UK live in poverty. We need your help in improving the health and general well being of disabled people from ethnic minority communities. Reports and statistics indicate that the vast majority of disabled people find themselves struggling to pay for basic amenities.

The impact of our work can be demonstrated through the journey of one of our beneficiaries who had debt issues. He approached us for support and assistance. We were successful in negotiating, on his behalf, the cancellation of the debts. He appreciates the work we have done.

Please support us in meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people in society in managing and taking control of their finances.

Charity No: 1142005
