North East Humanists
NEH are a partner group of Humanists UK who campaign on behalf of all non-religious people for a fairer society with no religious privilege. We have an active team of school volunteers who aim to ensure that children are taught about non-religious world views. We also have speakers who can explain Humanism to adult groups.
We have a programme of events in central Newcastle once per month and have active ethical discussion groups meeting once per month in various locations throughout the North East. We collect money for a “Charity of the Year” and for the Isaac Newton (Humanist) School in Uganda.
Humanists believe that there are no supernatural entities influencing our lives and that we have to decide the important things in life based on reason and our innate ethical code of behaviour. We only have one life so we have to make the best of it for ourselves, for others and for the planet.
