Nil By Mouth
Nil By Mouth is a Scottish charity (SCO: 30375) which seeks to challenge sectarianism. It was set up by Glasgow teenager Cara Henderson following the sectarian murder of her school friend Mark Scott in 1995.
We successfully campaigned for the creation of tough laws to tackle sectarian behaviour and established Scotland’s first anti-sectarian schools award programme.
We have transformed people’s perception of sectarianism by leading and shaping the national debate on this issue. No longer do people dismiss bigotry as ‘banter’ and we wish to help the young people of Scotland find their voice and support them as they seek to build bridges with each other and more importantly shape their own destinies.
In May 2016 we launched our 'Champions of Change' appeal with the aim of raising £3,500 to fund educational and sporting events bringing together pupils & schools from different religious and cultural traditions. To support this schools work you can make a one off donation today or spread your kindness over the year with monthly payments.
Thanks for helping prove that Scotland is better, brighter and bolder than bigotry.
