MV Balmoral Fund Limited
Flagship of the Year 2016
MV Balmoral is one of the last survivors of the golden age of coastal excursion ships.
Built in 1949 to be flagship of the Southampton and Isle of Wight Red Funnel operation until 1968, she then became the last member and flagship of P&A Campbell’s famous White Funnel Fleet. Since 1986 she’s been based in Bristol, operated by Waverley Excursions, who in 2012 decided they could no longer operate her.
After two very uncertain years she was purchased and refitted by MV Balmoral Fund, a new charity dedicated to her operational preservation. She has once again sailed on day and shorter excursions around the UK coast for the past 3 summers.
Unfavourable weather and operational issues plagued her 2017 season so she needs your help to fund her overhaul, without which she faces an uncertain future.
Please support this wonderful example of Britain's Maritime Heritage.
