MONTY'S COMMUNITY HUB is a community-development charity based at the heart of the Montague Avenue neighbourhood in Sholing, Southampton.

MONTY’S began life in 2013, when local volunteers got together to save the old youth centre from closing down following spending cuts. Monty's is still run mainly by volunteers (with support from Oasis Academy Mayfield and St Mary’s Church, Sholing) but really it belongs to everyone who lives in the local area. The idea is for this to be a space where anyone in our community can meet up, share life, make new friends, learn new skills, improve job prospects, or get help and advice.

MONTY’S is more than just a venue; our vision is to enable our personal, social and spiritual growth as a community, so that we can all enjoy fullness of life within a flourishing neighbourhood. We have a Christian ethos, but people of any faith or none are welcome; our hope is to grow as a space of generous hospitality for everyone.

MONTY’S currently hosts a range of groups and activities for children, young people and parents – as well as organising special events during the holidays. We are also working with local residents to develop a new range of groups and activities for people of all ages - including bike project, cooking classes, nutrition workshops, job clubs, debt advice, parenting advice, arts/crafts groups, lunch clubs, prayer/meditation groups, a community cafe, and more!

CAN YOU HELP? Whatever you can give will help us continue growing this amazing project working with some amazing people to develop opportunities and aspirations in this community. Whatever you can give will be enormously appreciated!
