Mnarani Aid

Charity description

Mnarani Aid logo
Mnarani Aid is a charity dedicated to helping the Special Needs children of Kilifi area of Kenya by helping them to learn skills that will make them of value to their family and community.

Mnarani Aid was formed in 2008 and helps the children of Kilifi County by improving their Primary and Secondary Schools and by supplying the Schools with text books, teaching aids and materials. Kilifi, on Kenya’s coast, is 50 miles north of Mombasa. The area has a high level of unemployment with 60% of men being without work. The Primary Schools are Mnarani, Konjora and Matsangoni, which are government funded and have roles of 1400 pupils aged between 4 and 14. Class sizes average 60 pupils. The help that Mnarani Aid has given the Schools includes helping to build fourty-eight new toilets, refurbishing 12 classrooms, provide desks and build a kitchen capable of supplying 1600 meals at a time. Having brought up the infrastucture of the schools to a reasonable level, we are now concentrating on the delivery of good quality education to the Special Needs children in these three schools.
