Mission Motorsport

Charity description

Mission Motorsport logo
The Forces’ Motorsport Charity was launched on the 1st March 2012 in order to help those affected by military operations by engagement through sport.

Recognising from the outset the astonishing inspirational and healing potential of motor sport, and from the outset linking to a buoyant and vibrant part of British industry has resulted in a fast growth from a voluntary, collaborative effort run by servicemen to today’s professional organisation.

We’ve come a long way and we need your help to continue to do so.

The motto, Race Retrain Recover is as relevant now as it was in 2012. It refers to the charity’s formal roles
to Defence - as the lead for recovery motorsport, in the provision of training, and as relationship managers
to the UK automotive industry to secure new careers for those leaving the Services.

Mission Motorsport is run by veterans, serving officers and motorsport professionals. We are appointed as the Combined Services’ official providers of adaptive motorsport, seeking wherever possible to merge the activities of the disabled and those in need with able bodied servicemen and women.
Appointed by the British Army Motorsport Association, and operating in direct support of the Defence Recovery Capability, Mission Motorsport provides respite, rehabilitation, recreational opportunities and training to those affected by military operations within the framework of Motorsport.
Our output is in three main areas, Experience, Competition and Vocation. From a first hand, front seat, white knuckle introduction to an exciting sport, through to the preparation, development, coaching, teamwork and participation involved in competition, along with vocational training and work placements with major motor manufacturers and race teams.
